For all events where “arena” is listed as location, this means the Al MacInnis Sports Centre in Port Hood.
Participants attending any official Chestico Days event or activity do so at their own risk; Chestico Days is not responsible for injuries, loss of property, etc.
Monday, July 28
6:30 pm: Outdoor Mass, St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery. In event of inclement weather, mass will be inside St. Peter’s Church.
Tuesday, July 29
Golf Tournament. 8 am shot gun start. Location: Dundee Golf Club. Steak Dinner to follow at Port Hood Arena.
8-10pm Youth Dance (grades 6,7,& 8).Doors close at 9pm Adm/;$5.00 at Arena Mezzanine.
Wednesday, July 30
12 pm: Bikinis & Trunks Sand Sculpture Competition. Location: Port Hood supervised beach below Court House. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Registration: noon; judging at 4 pm. BBQ.
7 pm: Family Ceilidh, Introduction of the Chestico Days Princesses followed by the crowning of the Chestico Days Queen.Also the introduction of the Chestico Couple. Location: Al Mac Innis Sports Centre. Light lunch served. Admission: $5 per person; under 12 free.
Thursday, July 31st
4 pm: Traditional Lobster Dinner, Featuring local market-size lobsters, homemade salads, rolls, pie, tea/coffee.Cost $20.00.Hot Dogs avaiable for children (free for child if with an adult that has bought a Lobster Dinner).Advance tickets can be bought Wednesday 12:00pm – 5:00 pm and Thursday 12:00pm – 3:00pm.Cash Only
7:30 pm: Ceilidh. Location: Chestico Museum. Tea & light lunch served. Admission: $5. Children 12 & under are admitted free.
Friday, August 1st
2 pm: Children’s Activities,Teddy Bear Picnic,Arena
2-4 pm: Entertainment & Hot Dog BBQ. Location: Port Hood Co-op parking lot.Sponsored by Port Hood Co-op & Chestico Museum.
6 pm: Harness Racing. Location: Port Hood Race Track, Irish Road/Glencoe Station Road. Beer Garden, entertainment, BBQ. Admission: $2 per person. Bounce for Cash tickets: $5 each or 3 for $10; available at DF Beaton Service Centre, Ceilidh Co-op or any KOC member. $500 prize for each race.
10-1:00 AM Adult Dance —-NO FILTER ADM $15.00 19 + Port Hood Arena
Saturday, August 2
9 am: Alfred Reynolds Road Race & Family Fun Walk/Run (all ages). Registration: 8-9 am @ Port Hood Fire Hall. Fee: $10 for 8K; $2 for ages 12 and under (2K).
9-11 am: Pancake Breakfast. Choice of ham or sausage. Location: St. Stephen’s Church Hall. Cost: Adult $8, children $6. Sponsored by St. Stephen’s-Jubilee United Church.
11 am: Street Parade.
12 – 4:00PM: Family Entertainment — NEW BRACELET FORMAT: $20.00 per Child.Bracelets will be sold in advance at the
Arena (cash only) from 12pm to 5pm on Wednesday, July 30th Thursday ,July 31st & Friday August 1st .
(KIds get unlimited access to rides/games ,1 cotton candy,1 snow cone 2 wins on chocolate wheel,
a Ramas,Fish Pond ,BBQ & Much More).Bracelets and Individual tickets will be available on
12-4 pm: Firemen’s BBQ, arena grounds. Hot dogs, sausages, cold drinks.
12pm – 4pm: Family Entertainment,Food & Craft Showcase, Children’s Games and activities Al Mac Innis Sports Centre
12-3pm: Chicken BBQ Dinner. Location: Port Hood Fire Hall. Hot dogs available for children.
12:30 – 6PM 29TH Annual Stepdancing Festival & Concert. Al Mac Innis Sports Centre
10pm-1:00am Eddie Cummings Adult Dance. Location: arena. Admission: $20 p/p. Government-issued ID required; 19 years of age+ only. ADMISSION WILL BE CHARGED AT THE DOOR UNTIL THE END OF THE DANCE.
Sunday, August 3rd
1 pm: Boat Parade. View local boat owners as they sail past the old Government Wharf/Wharf Beach, an annual tradition. Not an official Chestico Days event.
Dusk: Fireworks. Location: set-off location is old Government Wharf.COME OUT AND ENJOY A WEEK OF FUN IN PORT HOOD!
